Described as “uniquely deranged,” Lionsgate’s Boy Kills World, starring Bill Skarsgård, appears to be a blend of John Wick at the Hunger Games, on a Kill Bill mission. Judging by the ultra violent trailer that has just been released.
Skarsgård stars as ‘Boy,’ who is hell-bent on revenge after being orphaned and rendered deaf and mute by the corrupt and cruel Van Der Koy family, led by Famke Janssen‘s character, Hilda. They kill his loved ones, leaving him alone in a post-apocalyptic world.

Fuelled by his inner voice, borrowed from his favorite childhood video game, Boy undergoes training with a mysterious shaman to morph into a lethal force. Just in time for the annual culling of dissidents, he unleashes chaos in a torrent of martial arts brutality, leaving a trail of bloodshed.
The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: A dystopian fever dream action film that follows Boy, a deaf mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, he is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.

H. Jon Benjamin (Bob’s Burgers) plays the voice inside Boy’s head and alongside Skarsgård and Janssen the cast also includes Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhian, Andrew Koji and Sharlto Copley.
Directed by Moritz Mohr, Boy Kills World is set to hit cinemas in the US, April 26. Unfortunately, we are still awaiting word on the official UK release information.
