The expanding John Wick universe will start with Peacock’s three part mini series The Continental. The spin-off will be based in the 1970’s and is led by Mel Gibson. It’s a prequel to the films starring Keanu Reeves and centers around Winston Scott (Colin Woodell), who came to acquire The Continental. The notorious chain of hotels were established as a neutral haven for housing assassins.
Gibson plays ruthless kingpin Cormac, he is introduced early in the trailer and delivers a threatening monologue saying, “This sacred institution wields power beyond your imagination.” to Winston Scott.

The official synopsis from Peacock reads, “The three-part event series will explore the origin behind the hotel through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.”
“Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”
