Deadpool 3, now officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine, has dropped its first trailer. The highly anticipated release was built up over a number of days and weeks and (in case you haven’t heard) was released during this year’s Super Bowl.
The trailer opens with Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson seemingly enjoying a regular life with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and his friends. However, it doesn’t take long before he’s caught up in something and taken by the Time Variance Authority (TVA).
He’s informed by Matthew MacFadyen’s agent Paradox that he’s special and that it’s his chance to be a “hero among heroes.” But Wade promptly informs him that the cinematic universe is going to change, that he’s the messiah and declares, “I am Marvel Jesus.”
The trailer briefly teases Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, showing him from the back as he sits at a table. Towards the end, Deadpool is seen on the ground, with Wolverine’s shadow looming over him, engulfing the scene.
In 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine will be the only MCU title gracing theaters. Following that, audiences can anticipate the release of Captain America: Brave New World in February 2025.
Deadpool & Wolverine will ‘come together’ in cinemas on July 26.
