Universal Pictures have released a new trailer for Blumhouse horror Five Nights at Freddy’s. The new trailer gives us a good look at the animatronic monsters Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Mr Cupcake, who we see eat a guy’s face.
Five Nights at Freddy’s was a popular indie horror game developed by Scott Cawthon. The game was released in 2014 and has since spawned a series of sequels and spin-offs. The gameplay revolves around the player taking on the role of a night security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a family-friendly restaurant with animatronic animal mascots. However, it takes a sinister turn as the animatronics come to life at night and start roaming the restaurant.
The trailer starts with a break-in at the Freddy Fazbear’s pizza joint, it ends pretty badly for the would be robbers/vandals. We see Josh Hutcherson as a night security guard as he takes a job watching over the premises, having been hired by the owner played by Matthew Lillard. He discovers that its beloved animatronic mascots have murderous intent as they come to life at night.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi she co-wrote the screenplay with game creator Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. Alongside Matthew Lillard & Josh Hutcherson the cast includes Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, Elizabeth Lail and Kat Conner Sterling.
