Based on the Richard Montañez memoir A Boy, a Burrito and a Cookie: From Janitor to Executive, the biopic follows the life story of the man who claims to have invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Richard Montañez’s story is disputed by Frito-Lay, which said employees located in the Upper Midwest actually created Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Richard Montañez says that while he was working at the Rancho Cucamonga Frito-Lay plant, he thought of spicing up Cheetos with chile powder.
The film will be available June 9 on Hulu, stars Jesse Garcia as Montañez and is directed by Eva Longoria.
