‘Spaceman’ Trailer Adam Sandler As A Tormented Lonely Astronaut

Adam Sandler is testing his dramatic acting chops once more!

Netflix have released the trailer for their upcoming Sc-fi movie Spaceman. The film charts the voyage of Jakub Prochazka played by Adam Sandler as he embarks on a six month solo research mission to the edge of the solar system.

During the mission he becomes overwhelmed with loneliness and sadness due to the prospect his marriage may not survive. During his voyage he is approached by a mysterious spider-like creature with apparent good intentions. Is it real? Is it a figment of his imagination, as he questions himself saying “I’m losing my mind.”


Carey Mulligan stars as Lenka, wife to Sandlers character and Paul Dano voices the spider-like creature named Hanuš. The film is based on Czech author Jaroslav Kalfař’s 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia.

The official synopsis for the film reads, “Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub, realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka, he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late.


Directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl) Jaroslav Kalfař’s book is adapted and written by Colby Day. Spaceman will get a short theatrical run from February 23, before it streams on Netflix on March 1st.
