Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio attended the ICCCon in Nashville where Cox spoke on his feelings about returning to play Matt Murdock.
Per comicbook.com Cox expressed his weird feelings about coming back and his thoughts on his appearance in She-Hulk saying.
“It was really weird. And I’m older and so therefore he’s older. So I think it was important for that to be a part of it. I don’t know necessarily what I mean by that, but he’s been through more. He’s been through everything in some way. In some world, in some variant, he’s been through what we’ve seen or not.”
“But She-Hulk was really fun because one of the things we didn’t do a huge amount of in the original show, it was so dark so much of the time, he was so tortured that in the comics there was at times a lot of levity.” There was a lot of fun and he’s very charismatic and he’s very funny at times. We didn’t do too much of that. We didn’t have much of that.”
Daredevil: Born Again
On the back of Daredevils appearance in She-Hulk, Charlie Cox will return as the vigilante lawyer alongside Vincent D’Onofrio & Jon Bernthal who return as Kingpin and Frank Castle, in an 18 part Disney series due out in 2024.
Since the Marvel/Netflix partnership ended the fate of Daredevil has been up in the air with the original series ending after three seasons in 2018.
Bernthal’s appearance in season 2 of Daredevil was much loved by fans, so much so, it got its own series The Punisher which ended in 2019.
In an interview with IGN Charlie Cox has said the new show will not be a continuation of the Netflix series saying.
“I don’t think it means we’re going to tell the Frank Miller story of Born Again in the comics, I don’t think it means that. I think it’s you know we made the [Netflix] show, it ended, years passed, and we’re making another show. It’s a perfect title.”
Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2024.
