First reports of a Jon Snow series were revealed in June 2022, when Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin revealed there’s something in the pipeline with a working title called ‘Snow’ and that it was Kit Harington’s idea.
Harington has teased fans with the possibility before saying.
“At the end of the show when we find him in that cell, he’s preparing to be beheaded and he wants to be. He’s done. The fact he goes to the Wall is the greatest gift and also the greatest curse.“
“He’s gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Dany, and live out his life thinking about Ygritte dying in his arms, and live out his life thinking about how he hung Olly, and live out his life thinking about all of this trauma, and that, that’s interesting.”
In an interview with Deadline HBO executive Francesca Orsi was asked about the spinoff, Orsi did not give much positivity, saying it’s still in “very early stages.”
“We’re just working deeply with the writers to get it in shape for potential greenlight, but at this point, no, no determination on whether it can go all the way.”
Many fans are excited to see the iconic character return, here’s to hoping HBO can get it over the finish line. It wouldn’t be the first time Jon Snow has come back from the dead.
