Netflix have added two new cast members to their true crime anthology series Monster with Javier Bardem & Chloë Sevigny joining as reported by Variety. They will play the mother & father of Lyle and Erik Menéndez who were convicted of killing their parents in 1996.
As previously announced Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez will play the convicted brothers who claimed they committed the murders out of fear their father would kill them after they threatened to expose him for years of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. The prosecution argued they did it to inherit their parents multi-million dollar estate.
The season is officially titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story and is due to debut on the streaming platform later in 2024. Netflix have also revealed they have exclusive access to Lyle and Erik Menéndez to participate in a documentary feature from Campfire Studios.
The first season of Monster titled Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story saw Evan Peters play the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and it has gone on to be one of Netflix’s most watched shows of all time. This success has led them to commit to a third season also, however the subject of that series in unknown or yet to be determined.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story is due for release later on this year.
